Upgrade Kit for Statamic 6

Statamic 5 security support runs through December 2026. PHP 8.2 security support ends December 31, 2026. Laravel 10 and 11 are already out of security support.

Who can skip it

Already on Laravel 12, with no custom code

If the site is already on Laravel 12 and has no custom code, you may only need the official Statamic 5 to 6 upgrade guide. The guide says that for most sites already on Laravel 12, the process takes less than five minutes. The kit is not a paid version of that page.

The kit is for the other path. Laravel 10 or 11. PHP 8.2. Custom fieldtypes or addons. Vue 2. Multisite. A non-UTC timezone. A static deploy. That work is spread across PHP, Laravel, Statamic, addons, and the build, and the official guide assumes the Laravel 12 part is already done.

There is a free, ungated Statamic 6 readiness checklist if you want the steps without the kit.

The deadline

What is actually out of support

PHP 8.2 security support ends December 31, 2026. Active support ended December 31, 2024. PHP’s supported versions.

Statamic’s published support policy lists security fixes for Statamic 5 through December 2026. Bug fixes already ended in March 2026. The policy says the dates can change. Statamic release and support policy.

Laravel 11 security support ended March 12, 2026. Laravel 10 security support ended in February 2025. A Statamic 5 site on either of those is already on an unsupported framework. Laravel 12 security support ends February 24, 2027, so Laravel 12 is not the part that is already overdue. Laravel’s support table.

Statamic is also dropping Laravel 10 and 11 from the 5.x line, because Composer 2.10’s advisory checks block installs of those versions. statamic/cms #14793.

Statamic 6 needs PHP 8.3 or newer and Laravel 12 or newer. It supports PHP 8.3 through 8.5, and Laravel 12 and 13. Statamic recommends Laravel 13 and PHP 8.5. 5 to 6 upgrade guide. Statamic 6 was released January 28, 2026. Launch post.

The kit targets PHP 8.4 or 8.5, not because Statamic 6 requires 8.4. PHP 8.3 security support ends December 31, 2027. Statamic 7 is listed for Q1 2027 as PHP 8.4 through 8.6 and Laravel 13 through 14. PHP 8.4 security support runs through December 2028, and PHP 8.5 through December 2029. Moving to 8.4 or 8.5 now is one PHP upgrade instead of two.

The kit

What the guide does not cover

The paid part is the work around the composer bump.

  • The whole path, in order: PHP, then Laravel, then Statamic, then addons, then the static build.
  • A preflight script that reads the project and writes an upgrade plan.
  • Composer constraint recipes for each starting point, and a script that proposes each hop.
  • A Rector config for the PHP 8.4, Laravel, and Statamic changes. Run it with --dry-run first.
  • An addon compatibility check.
  • A test plan.
  • A rollback runbook.
  • Cloudflare Pages and GitHub Actions static builds. Cloudflare’s build image lacks PHP 8, so the site has to be built in CI and the HTML deployed. Cloudflare Pages build image.

This is complementary to Laravel Shift. Shift automates a Laravel upgrade, one version at a time, as a pull request. Shift’s site listed that from $19 to $39 per version on October 31, 2026. Use Shift for the Laravel hops if you want to. The kit tells you when to run them, and it handles the Statamic, PHP, addon, and static-build work Shift does not.

Official guide, Laravel Shift, and this kit
Official 5 to 6 guide Laravel Shift This kit
Starting point Assumes you are already on Laravel 12. Lists the Statamic changes. One Laravel version, opened as a pull request. PHP, then Laravel, then Statamic, then addons, then the static build.
Your project No check against your code or content. No Statamic-specific checks on Shift’s site. Preflight script that writes an upgrade plan.
Addons Not covered. Not covered. Addon compatibility check.
Static hosting Not covered. Not covered. Cloudflare Pages and GitHub Actions. The build image lacks PHP 8, so CI builds the site.
Afterward No test plan or rollback plan. You review that pull request. Test plan and rollback runbook.

Tested on

Throwaway sites, not testimonials

These are the runs the kit has been through. They were throwaway sites. There is no client count and no quote.

  • Two throwaway Statamic 5 sites were upgraded to Statamic 6.39 on Laravel 12 and PHP 8.4, using only the kit.
  • A Laravel 10 site went from 10 to 11, then 11 to 12, then to Statamic 6. The Laravel 11 hop needed laravel/sanctum bumped to ^4.0. The kit’s recipe handles that bump.
  • That same site then went to Laravel 13.
  • The preflight catches 'searchables' => 'all'. That setting throws on search:update even while the homepage returns 200. The preflight also catches multisite traps.

Prices

Solo and Agency

Prices are in US dollars. Both tiers include 12 months of updates.

Early-bird is $39 for Solo and $79 for Agency through December 1, 2026. After that, Solo is $49 and Agency is $99.

The kit is not on sale yet. The target date is Friday, November 13, 2026. Until a checkout link is added, the buttons email [email protected].

Delivery is a private GitHub repository plus a PDF runbook of the same material. Updates during the 12 months are delivered in the repository.

The done-for-you option is the $500 Rescue Audit. It is a written assessment of a PHP, Laravel, or Statamic codebase. For an upgrade, it is us running this kind of plan on your repo and sending you the write-up. Upgrade and Rescue, from $2,500, is quoted from that audit.

FAQ

Questions

Who is it not for?

Sites already on Laravel 12 with no custom code. Use the official guide. It is also not a substitute for someone else doing the upgrade. That is the Rescue Audit.

Who is it for?

Freelancers and small agencies who look after more than one Statamic 5 site and want the same steps each time. Owners of one site who have custom fieldtypes, addons, or a static deploy. Teams on Laravel 10 or 11 plus Statamic 5, who have to move PHP, Laravel, and Statamic.

How is it delivered?

A private GitHub repository, plus a PDF runbook of the same material. You pull updates from the repository. The 12 months of updates are delivered that way.

Does it work with your own AI agent?

Yes. The kit includes a prompt file so you can point your own coding agent at the runbook and the scripts. The steps live in the kit. The agent is whichever one you already use.

Do I still need Laravel Shift?

Only if you want Shift to open the Laravel pull requests. The kit is complementary to Shift. It tells you which hop to run, and it covers the parts Shift does not.

When can I buy it?

Not until checkout links are in place. The target on-sale date is Friday, November 13, 2026. While a tier has no checkout link, its button emails [email protected] with the tier in the subject.
